Where Literacy Meets Economic Power

Our work brings together two disciplines that have always belonged in the same room. Dr. La Tasha D. Fields and Jason M. Fields draw on 50 years of combined experience in literacy education, economic development, and financial empowerment—delivered jointly or individually, in the format that best serves your organization, event, or family.

Every engagement is rooted in real credentials and real community impact: international literacy leadership, certified economic development and financial education expertise, and a lived understanding that the words a community reads and the wealth it builds are parts of the same story.

Professional Learning

The Fields Institute offers flexible professional development as a full-day joint program or standalone half-day sessions, so your organization can choose the format that fits its needs and budget.

Joint Program: Literacy + Capital

In the morning, Dr. La Tasha D. Fields leads culturally responsive literacy and equity training grounded in more than 25 years of experience across classrooms, districts, and higher education. In the afternoon, Jason M. Fields, a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI), delivers a financial literacy and economic empowerment session for adult learners and professionals—intentionally linking literacy as the foundation to financial literacy as its real-world application.

Individual Sessions

Keynote Speaking

The Fields Institute offers keynote speaking jointly or individually — each option grounded in the same foundation of literacy, economic empowerment, and community advancement, tailored to fit your event.

Joint Keynote: Word & Wealth

Some conversations only happen when two perspectives meet in the same room. Dr. La Tasha D. Fields and Jason M. Fields bring literacy and economic empowerment together in a single keynote — one grounded in over 25 years of literacy education and international board leadership, the other in economic development, venture capital, and financial education at the highest levels of Wisconsin government and business. Together, they make the case that has shaped their own lives and careers: that the words a community reads and the wealth a community builds have always been the same story, told from two directions.

Individual Keynotes

Dr. La Tasha D. Fields speaks on literacy, culturally responsive education, and educational equity — drawing on her work with the International Literacy Association, the Wisconsin State Reading Association, and over two decades in classrooms, districts, and higher education.

Jason M. Fields speaks on economic development, financial literacy, and leadership — drawing on his work as a Certified Economic Developer, Certified Financial Education Instructor, former Wisconsin State Legislator, and venture capital founder.
