La Tasha Fields, PhD

Dr. La Tasha D. Fields is a nationally recognized literacy scholar and education equity leader with more than 25 years of experience from early childhood through adult education. She serves on the Board of Directors of the International Literacy Association, representing over 300,000 educators in 75 countries, and is a former President of the Wisconsin State Reading Association and its first Black Vice President. Dr. Fields is Director of Reading and Adult Basic Education Instructor at Madison College and CEO/President of Onyx Educational Consulting, where she designs equity-centered literacy and professional learning for schools and community organizations.

Jason M. Fields is a distinguished economic development leader, financial educator, and former six-term Wisconsin State Legislator with more than two decades of public service and private-sector impact. He has led regional economic strategy as President & CEO of the Madison Region Economic Partnership, founded a venture capital fund, and now serves as Chief Strategy Officer for the Center for Black Excellence and Culture in Madison, Wisconsin. A Certified Economic Developer and Certified Financial Education Instructor, Fields is twice named to Wisconsin’s 275 Most Influential Business Leaders list and is known for advancing economic inclusion, access to capital, and community-centered growth.
